We played Fleming 9 hole on Saturday, 12/12 and had a great time. This was my first time playing Fleming and I would definitely play again for some practice and definitely a great option if you can’t get a tee time elsewhere. At $30 for SF Resident Card holders, it’s a good deal. Due to COVID, they’re only letting groups of 2 go out, we felt safe the entire time.
Course Conditions: Fleming is in fantastic shape, it just reopened after a short closure during the PGA Championship. It’s a tough little 9 hole course with (6) par 3’s and (3) par 4’s. It’s a great place for beginners, kids, and any skill level trying to get some practice in.
On Course Amenities: Pre-round, we grabbed a cocktail at the Cypress Grill, they served up a nice bloody mary. Surprisingly, we even saw a cart serving beers to folks on the 9 hole, nice little perk if you want a drink out on the course. You don’t normally see drink service on a 9 hole. Unfortunately, due to PGA Championship, the driving range was closed.
Bars/Restaurants Nearby: During non COVID times, anyone looking for lunch or dinner post round, I’d recommend Original Joe’s – Westlake, it’s about a 5 minute drive for fantastic Italian food.
Overall, Fleming is a great 9 hole course and really great value at $30. In comparison to other local 9’s like Gleneagles and Golden Gate Park, Fleming is leaps and bounds ahead of those two. Go check it out!
